There is an explosion of activity and opportunity in the Telecom industry with FTTH infrastructure happening across the UK driven by a multitude of Alternate Network providers and our client is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager.

The purpose of this role is to maximise this opportunity by offering the full end-to-end capability from cable supply to full integrated cabinet solution. Working with our alternate network leader and following the customer road map, you will work to build relationships and sales with the key alternate networks, focused on cabinet integration initially and then growing our portfolio of products at each customer and branching into other areas eg FTTA

The cabinet integration is a technical sell due to the nature of the product so the ability to understand customers’ needs and find solutions is imperative with you taking full responsibility for customer interface. It is a challenging role but the opportunity is vast and there is scope to reap rewards for the business and yourself

What you’ll bring

Knowledge of the telecoms industry, ideally with working knowledge of supply chain in a major network

Demonstrable experience in sales generation and customer development

Proven track record in sales achievement and pipeline development

Technical understanding of FTTH /FTTA installations and or fibre optic products with the ability to guide and support customers on technical project aspects

Commercial acumen with the ability to maximise margin and or understand commercial sensitivities within a project or deal

Experience working in or with an SME

Customer-centric with the ability to gain trust with customers and grow brand loyalty / attain strong retention rates and develop long-term relationships

A mix of hunting and harvesting sales skills

The salary and perks for this Business Development Manager role are as follows, Competitive salary (£55,000-65,000) – OTE (£95,000-100,000) Uncapped commission scheme Hybrid working (field sales) 25 days holiday plus bank holidays Fuel/car allowance
